After a busy August, we have had a pretty slow September. Although, apparently not too slow since I haven't found the time to blog at all. We seem to be getting into a nice routine. Brennan is finally able to work consistently since the technical problems have been fixed. Yay!! School is going well for him and I am getting the swing of things at my new job. I actually really enjoy it and I am so glad I was able to find this job and feel like I am at least kind of using my degree, instead of feeling like I wasted the last four years.
September brought a couple more weddings for us. These sorts of things come in threes, right? Liz, Kassy, and Gretchen, so we should be done for awhile. Not that I am complaining, weddings are beautiful events and fun to witness and be a part of. Kassy and Gretchen are two more friends from high school who got married this month. I was Kassy's personal attendant and couldn't be happier for her and David, they are great together.
There we are on the big day. The wedding was wonderful and everything seemed to go off without a hitch.
Yesterday, Gretchen and Andy got married. I wasn't in the wedding party, I had no duties or responsibilities, I just got to go and watch and enjoy and be happy for them. It was kind of a nice change. Gretchen and I go way back. :) In middle school she used to walk to my house in the morning and then we would walk to school or early morning basketball practice together. And then after school, pretty much every single day, Gretchen and my neighbor Grant would come over and we would play games and eat cookies until dinner time. Seriously. Instant cookies. Every day. And we never failed to down a whole batch. We were disgusting. Anyway, the point is, Gretchen has been a good friend for a long time. She is so much fun. I am so happy to see her with Andy, who is also a ton of fun.
The happy couple.
Someone put a bowling ball and chain on both Gretchen and Andy at the reception. They had to keep it on until they could find the right key. I thought it was pretty entertaining. Not sure how funny they thought it was. :)
I think that one of the greatest things about going to weddings is the opportunity to see people you don't normally see or that you haven't seen in awhile. Last night, we got to see Nora Senyk, an old friend of mine from middle school. She moved away after 8th grade, and I haven't seen her in probably 6 years. It was great to catch up and visit for awhile.
All of these weddings sure do bring back a lot of memories for us. It is fun to think about our wedding day and all the people we got to share that with. What a wonderful experience!
Last, but not least, I have to share the cutest picture of my newest niece. My sister, Mara, had her first baby about a week and a half ago. I am so happy for her and Ben!! And I am so excited to go and meet this little one in a couple of weeks.
Jade.
